Like many photographers, I love the old black and white media. More than just capturing a moment, the very look and feel of those old images transports you back to bygone eras. Recreating that feel in recent images, however, is far from easy. Yes, we can use post processing to an extent and produce some amazing  effects but somehow they rarely quite recreate what those old lenses and films produced.

The lens above is a rare 1960s 8 element Asahi Takumar Pentax 50mm f\1.4. This is one of the many vintage lenses that I use, adapted to a Nikon DSLR, in order to truly capture the look and feel of yesteryear. The days of film have come and gone but so many of us yearn for the special look and feel of those black and white images that somehow captured the romantic ambience of yesteryear with glorious aplomb. Vintage Photography is bringing those evocative monochrome memories back to the future.
