Again with the Nikon Z6, here I’m testing the classic Nikon 180mm ED AIS. It’s tack sharp so makes taking a flattering portrait challenging but fortunately my lovely wife was (not so) happy to model for me. Below one colour and one monochrome rendition.
Notice how vintage lenses produce very different results from our modern ones. The right vintage lens will be as sharp as you’d ever want or need but their sharpness seems to show in the right parts of the image and other areas are slightly softer, giving an almost film like feel, even when shot with the latest and greatest digital cameras.
